Sara Hoxie
Licensed Clinical Social Worker #134709
about the therapist
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I am passionate about supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and their families through the many challenges and transitions that shape early development. My work is grounded in the belief that every young person deserves a safe, supportive space where they can explore their emotions, build resilience, and feel deeply understood.
I bring specialized training in child development, trauma-informed care, and family systems work. My approach blends evidence-based practices with a warm, relational style that helps clients feel comfortable and empowered. Because no two young people are alike, I tailor each session to meet the individual needs, strengths, and personality of the child or teen I’m supporting.
I work closely with parents and caregivers, recognizing that healing and growth are most powerful when the entire family feels supported. Whether I am helping a young child express big emotions, guiding a teen through identity or school-related stress, or partnering with parents to strengthen connection at home, my goal is always to create meaningful, lasting change.
Families describe my style as calm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I strive to meet each client exactly where they are—without judgment—and walk with them toward greater confidence, clarity, and emotional well-being.
Therapeutic Approach
In my private practice, I take a holistic, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach to supporting youth and families. I believe healing happens through connection, safety, and collaboration. I integrate play-based and experiential methods to meet young people where they are, while also empowering caregivers with insights and strategies that support growth at home. My goal is to create a compassionate space where families feel understood, supported, and capable of creating meaningful, lasting change together.
